A safe place for dogs.
Lighthouse Dog Rescue
Foster a rescue today
A non-profit 501(c)3 serving Tarrant County, Texas
Community includes dogs. Too many are left homeless, without hope.
Lighthouse Dog Rescue is working to reduce the huge number of stray and abandoned dogs due to non-existent laws on spay and neutering dogs, lax enforcement of anti-cruelty laws and puppy mills run by unethical and irresponsible backyard breeders.
With your help, we can change the lives of stray, abused and abandoned dogs across Tarrant County, Texas.
The Need
How We Help
Rescue
We save dogs who are abandoned, abused and homeless.
Rehabilitate
We ensure that dogs are given urgent and ongoing medical care, and a loving foster home.
Rehome
We use our large network of dog lovers to find compassionate and lucky furever parents.
It starts with community
About Us
As owners of Pixees Paws Pet Palace daycare and boarding, and rescuing dozens of dogs personally, Gayla and Cecilia have built a huge network of dog lovers who are willing to foster dogs, volunteer their time and talent to rescue a large number of at-risk dogs at the lowest cost possible. That’s why they’ve created a non-profit organization in order to scale up their impact and increase the number of dogs they can save. They also use their huge community to educate families on the importance of rescuing dogs, rather than buying them from backyard breeders or puppy mills.

Scooter
Scooter is all puppy. At eight week old he is full of energy, some might say he has destructive tendencies 😉, but he listens and responds to commands.
We aren’t sure of his breed.
Shiloh
Shiloh is healthy and has had all her vaccines. We think she’s a mix of Siberian Husky or Alaskan Malamute and maybe a Colie or Aussie Shepherd.
Very loving. Very obedient.
Probably about a year old.
Gabbar
Gabbar is a 13 year-old, healthy 80 pound, German Shepherd.
He would play catch 24/7 given the chance.
Loves his person and is loyal and attentive
Good with all dogs but watch closely around dogs less than 10 pounds. He may think they’re rabbits.
He listens and is obedient. Had been left to his own devices in his backyard for years. He’s learning words and human socialization, manners. He is crated at night. He is potty trained as long as he is around humans. He has accidents when left alone. Number 1, not 2. He’s submissive and if chastised by others in pack he bows and sulks away.
He is need of his own person or family who will show him love and the attention he so deserves in his senior years. He’s still spry and loves to bite at the water coming from the hose. His paw buddies showed him how to craft that art and he’s in it to win it!
